    Titleist TSi2 Driver Review

When you’re out on the fairway and need that extra carry distance, you have to turn to your trusty fairway driver for the carry you need in the shot. The new generation of TSi drivers from Titleist gives you the tool you need for the job.

Titleist knows how to build hype for its product releases, and the TSi2 Driver is no different. Golfers around the globe have been waiting for the one with breathless anticipation. The result is Titleist’s new TSi2 Driver being a great choice for handicaps of all levels and those advanced players looking for a driver with more loft and better distance.

Titleist promises the TSi2 Driver to be the game-improvement club you’re looking to add to your golf bag. The forgiving design and construction deliver maximum ball speed at a wider contact area across the clubface, making it a forgiving driver that gives you excellent performance, even on mis-hits.

The new design features a lower center of gravity, with the weight positioned lower and to the rear of the clubhead. The result is a better launch and lower spin in your drive, giving you one of the longest clubs in its category.

With the updated face design, enhanced MOI, and excellent levels of customization and adjustment, the TSi2 Driver is a real contender to consider for your next equipment upgrade.

    • 9 Wrapping Up – The Verdict on the TSi2 Driver Review

The TSi2 Driver comes with design and construction featuring high-quality ATI 425 aerospace titanium. Titleist is the first manufacturing brand to utilize this material in clubhead design. The alloy comes from a foundry in Pittsburgh, and you get a 4% increase in tensile strength across the clubface, better flexibility, and an increase of 30% in ductility.

As a result of the introduction of titanium for the TSi2 Driver design, you get a club offering ball speed and a huge sweet spot that is very forgiving on the beginner to intermediate player. The TSI2 Driver also features Titleist’s holistic MOI design.

Titleist goes beyond simply improving horizontal performance to the toe and heel. The clubface of the TSi2 features more stability across both the horizontal and vertical lines of the face and towards the crown and sole of the club.

As a result, you can expect higher ball speeds for the TSi2 and tighter spin with better directional performance. These characteristics of the TSi2 Driver add up to more confidence in the player when attacking the shot.

The TSi2 Driver comes with impressive aerodynamics. Titleist designed the clubhead to feel fast in your hands, generating optimal clubhead speed with every swing. According to Titleist, the TSi2 offers you 15% less drag in the air than the previous TS2 model.

The TSi2 also features fine-tuning adjustability to the player requirements. The SureFit hosel enables 16 loft and lie setting combinations allowing you to optimize your ball flight. The TSi2 also features a removable weight in the back cavity of the clubhead, allowing the player to adjust the spin and stability characteristics of the TSi2 Driver.

    Weight Distribution

The weight distribution in the TSi2 Driver sits with a lower center of brevity in the clubface and the weight more towards the bottom and rear of the clubhead.

That’s no surprise, as it’s the way all manufacturers are moving at the moment. However, you can expect better launch angles and excellent drive and distance in your shots, with less ball spin and more carry on the fairway.

    Shaft and Loft Options

The TSi2 Driver features16 loft and lie settings and customizable head-weight adjustability in 2-gram increments -4g to 4g. As a result, you can set the club up to deliver consistent ball flight and distance in your game.

The TSi2 Driver comes in options for 9°, 10°, and 11° lofts, with a 460cc clubhead. You get more shaft options over the TSi1, with standard and premium graphite shafts available.

    • KURO KAGE Black DC 5G SFW (mid-high launch).
    • TENSEI AV RAW Blue SFW (mid launch).
    • HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX (low-mid launch).
    • TENSEI AV RAW White (low launch).
    • Tour AD DI.
    • Tour AD IZ.
    • Tour AD XC.

The TSi2 Driver comes with the Golf Pride Tour Velvet 360 as the stock grip for this model. You also have a premium option in the Golf Pride Z-Grip. The Tour Velvet grip offers you a non-slip surface pattern featuring a 360-degree design. You get double-dash rings on either end for a consistent look, regardless of your adjustments or orientation.

The TSi2 Driver headcovers feature a clean look with ‘TSi’ embossed in a stylish design with a red, black, grey, and white color combination for the cover.

    Performance

The TSi2 Driver promises you more distance and a smashing experience out on the fairway. This club comes with some fantastic clubhead speed, bringing you a smash factor that’s right up there with the best models in its category.

We define the smash factor by dividing ball speed by clubhead speed. With the TSi2 Driver, you’re looking at an impressive smash factor of between 1.49 to 1.52, which is very impressive compared to other models from leading manufacturing brands.

This smash factor of the TSi2 Driver offers you an excellent transfer of energy across the clubface. It’s one of the longest drivers you’ll ever use, and up there with driver models from brands like TaylorMade and Callaway.

If you’re looking for the best launch distance, we recommend going with the 9-degree launch option for the TSi2 Driver. Beginners will love the forgiveness of the large sweet spot on the Tsi2 Driver, providing better shots with mis-hits.

The updated MOI design on the TSi2 keeps the ball in line with your target while offering an excellent launch with lower spin rates. As a result, you get a driver with plenty of forgiveness for the beginner.

The TSi2 doesn’t seem to have a side bias when it comes to your swing. You can expect a mid-high and straight ball flight from the driver, depending on your loft and lie settings and the shaft on the driver. The TSi3 would be the better choice for shot-shaping, but if you’re looking for drive and carry distance, then the TSi2 is the better choice.

Suitable Handicaps for the TSi2 Driver

The TSi2 is a very forgiving club, making it suitable for a wide range of player handicaps. This model is a great choice for anyone upgrading their beginner club to an improvement model or for advanced players looking for more carry and distance – it’s the longest club you’ll find.

    Styling and Finish

The unique clubface pattern of the TSi2 Driver is the standout characteristic of the design and looks of the club at the presentation—the horizontal lines on either side of the clubhead sandwich the diamond-textured center area of the clubhead.

This pattern allows the player to frame the ball easily, offering visual contrast between the black crown when you set up behind your ball. The TSi2 Driver sets up a square with the clubface center at address. The dark colors and use of white lines give the driver a gorgeous aesthetic while remaining true to the classic driver design.

The clubface of the TSi2 Driver has an intriguing and unique look. We love the way the stretched diamond pattern across the toe and heel sections provides continuity compared to the design of the previous TS2.

The unique clubface pattern of the TSi2 Driver is the standout characteristic of the design a

The most intriguing part of the aesthetic with the Tsi2 Driver is the textured center section. It leaves a mark when rubbing your nail across the area, but it wipes away easily. You’ll also notice that you don’t get any imprint with mis-strikes.

The clubhead crown comes with a minimalist design, with the TSi logo working as an alignment guide for setting up the ball. We love the modern, clean, and minimalist look for the sole on the TSi2 Driver. The finish is exquisite, with clever use of colors and elegant finishes. The toe of the TSi2 Driver features the classic Titleist scripting to round out the design aesthetic and look of the driver.

    Acoustics and Feel

The TSi2 features a complete titanium construction, with no use of carbon anywhere in the clubhead. This design feature is one of the primary reasons why the TSi2 gives the player a balanced metallic sound on contact, with a “swooshing” sound and a high-pitched pop unique to drivers in its category.

The sound of the sweet spot is similar, and that might frustrate players trying to discern between a power strike and a mis-hit. However, the TSI2 Driver does sound less crisp during mis-hits, and with enough time with the driver, you’ll identify the difference in the acoustics of your shots.

The feel of the TSi2 Driver is solid and stable as you strike through the ball, but we have to note that there is an unmistakable lightness to the club’s feel during your swing. As a result, we’re expecting higher swing speeds and better ball speed, with the ball exploding off the contact zone in sweet spot strikes.

    • Plenty of forgiveness in mis-hits.
    • Longer than the previous generation TS2 driver.

Wrapping Up – The Verdict on the TSi2 Driver Review

The TSi2 Driver brings you one of the most user-friendly and forgiving clubs in its category. Whether you’re a seasoned player or a beginner, the TSi2 Driver gives you excellent performance, more carry in your shots, higher ball speeds, swing speeds, and great launch.

It’s a real bomber, and you can expect a club that’s ideal for a game-improvement upgrade or a player looking for more forgiveness and as much distance as possible from their equipment. The TSi2 brings you an excellent balance of modern looks with a classic feel and the best consistency in its category.

The bevy of shaft options and custom fittings make the TSi2 Driver one of the standouts in its class. The consistency from this driver is amazing, and you can expect increases in ball speeds. Whether you’re hitting up or down the face from the alignment mark, you can expect outstanding delivery.

Titleist’s SureFit Hosel, with its 16 adjustable loft and lie setting combinations, allows you to set up the club any way you want. With the help of a certified fitment specialist, we’re confident you can set the club up to your customized requirements.

The TSi2 Driver comes with impressive looks and lovely acoustics when you land that perfect shot in the sweet spot. The Titleist TSi2 Driver is a top consideration for any golfer of any skill level looking to get as much distance and forgiveness as possible from their equipment.
