Four players will not return when TGL begins its third season on December 27. The league, founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, has also announced a new team and larger rosters.
Two-time Major winner Xander Schauffele is one of the players leaving. He played for New York Golf Club in the first two seasons.
Schauffele helped New York reach the SoFi Cup Finals in 2025. They lost to Atlanta Drive GC in that match.
Season two was harder for him. He missed much of the campaign with an injury, and New York finished last in the standings.
Adam Scott, the 2013 Masters champion, is also gone. He is no longer part of McIlroy’s Boston Common Golf line-up.

Other Departures
Lucas Glover, the 2009 US Open champion, has left Atlanta Drive GC. Kevin Kisner has also exited Jupiter Links Golf Club, where he played for two seasons.
Boston Common Golf finished bottom of the standings in 2025. In 2026, they reached the semi-finals and lost to Woods’ Jupiter Links.
The exits come as TGL grows from six teams to seven. Motor City Golf Club is the new franchise.
Each team will also have five players instead of four. That raises the total number of roster places from 24 to 35.
New York replaced Schauffele with Ben Griffin and Alex Fitzpatrick. Alex joins his brother Matt on the team, along with Rickie Fowler and Cameron Young.
Michael Brennan takes Glover’s place at Atlanta. Keith Mitchell replaces Kisner at Jupiter Links.
Ben James has joined Los Angeles Golf Club. Michael Thorbjornsen, a former alternate, is now a full-time member of Boston Common Golf.
Shane Lowry is the first player traded in TGL. He moved from The Bay Golf Club to Boston Common Golf.
The Bay Golf Club added Ryan Fox and Blades Brown. Motor City is led by five-time Major winner Brooks Koepka, along with Jackson Koivun, Bud Cauley, Jake Knapp and Si Woo Kim. All five are new to TGL, bringing the total number of debutants to 12.
