FanDuel Founders’ BetHog Secures $10M Series A for AI-Powered Casino Dealers

oliBy oliApril 23, 20263 Mins Read

    Key Highlights

    Contents

    • BetHog secured $10 million in Series A financing co-led by Will Ventures and RockawayX, pushing total capital raised to $16 million.
    • Sentient Studios was unveiled as a B2B solution enabling casino operators to integrate AI-driven live dealers into their platforms.
    • According to CEO Nigel Eccles, initial data shows BetHog’s AI dealer attracting 10 times more engagement than conventional live dealer offerings.
    • Operators can access the platform through a revenue-sharing arrangement with zero upfront costs or binding commitments.
    • Following the October 2025 debut of AI blackjack dealer “Sunny,” BetHog intends to introduce baccarat and roulette variants before year-end.

BetHog, a cryptocurrency-focused casino and sportsbook built by the team behind FanDuel, has successfully closed a $10 million Series A investment round. Alongside the capital raise, the company introduced Sentient Studios, a business-to-business platform that delivers artificial intelligence-powered live dealers to online gambling operators across the globe.

The funding round saw co-leadership from Will Ventures and RockawayX, with additional backing from PCV, 6MV, Bullpen Capital, and Advancit Capital.

This latest investment elevates BetHog’s cumulative fundraising to $16 million since its establishment in 2024.

CEO and co-founder Nigel Eccles said six months of testing revealed compelling performance metrics. The AI dealer technology demonstrated engagement levels “10X more popular than its live dealer equivalent” while delivering improved player retention and satisfaction scores.

    Inside the Sentient Studios Platform

Sentient Studios addresses limitations in traditional live dealer operations by providing casino operators with enhanced flexibility and control. Conventional approaches typically depend on external providers operating physical studios, creating constraints around capacity management, language support, and product personalization.

The new platform enables operators to dynamically adjust table availability based on demand while supporting multilingual experiences. Real-time customization of dealer interactions becomes possible without the overhead of managing physical infrastructure or staffing requirements.

Sentient Studios operates exclusively on a revenue-sharing business model. The absence of implementation fees or minimum contract terms reduces barriers for operators exploring the technology.

Eccles suggested that AI dealers could eliminate psychological barriers some players experience with human dealers. Player feedback indicates the AI-powered experience feels “more welcoming and less intimidating,” he noted.

He highlighted systemic challenges within the traditional live dealer industry as contributing factors. According to Eccles, human dealers frequently work for minimum compensation, during overnight hours, while communicating in languages beyond their native fluency.

Compounding these issues, dealers face penalties for errors while receiving no incentives for creating engaging broadcasts. Staff turnover typically occurs within months, he explained.

“The result is that 95%+ of streams are dull with dealers speaking robotically and often incoherently,” Eccles said. “In this scenario, AI can actually deliver a more human experience than humans.”

    Investment Partners and Future Roadmap

Will Ventures specializes in investments across sports, entertainment, and consumer sectors. RockawayX operates as a digital asset investment firm overseeing more than $2 billion in venture capital, credit facilities, and infrastructure investments.

BetHog deployed its inaugural AI dealer—a blackjack host called Sunny—in October 2025. Sunny currently operates in 12 languages and has emerged as among the platform’s most frequently played options.

Expansion into baccarat and roulette game variants is scheduled for later in 2025. BetHog presently processes deposits across 10 different cryptocurrencies and delivers gaming experiences in 14 languages.

The company indicated Series A capital will fund continued development of its AI dealer technology and drive broader adoption among international operators. While Sentient Studios initially operates exclusively on BetHog’s proprietary platform, Eccles confirmed to media that negotiations with external operators are already underway.
